ILO Convention-169 Bill Demand

24 Aug. 2026 (BS 2083-5-8), Biratnagar.

Mr. Daulath Kulung, Chairperson of Nepal Kirat Kulung Bhasa Sanskriti Utthan Sangh handed over a demand letter to Hon. Minister for Social Development of Koshi Province of Nepal Government to bring a BILL  of  ILO-169 Implementation. 

The demand was based on the verdict of Supreme Court of Nepal dated 8 February 2026 (BS 2080-10-25). On the verdict it is clearly instructed to all the three level of government i.e. Federa, Provincial and Local to ensure the rights of indigenous peoples of Nepal by making a law. 

The Article-1 of the ILO-169 has ensured the Rights to Self-identity of indigenous peoples. Kulungs are struggling to be officially recognized as an independent indigenous people for all over the country.  

 

Kulu Guskham Headquarters Main Gate Constructed

On 20 Dec. 2024 the main gate of the Headquarters of Nepal Kirat Kulung Bhasa Sanskriti Utthan Sangh (NKKBSUS) has been inaugurated by the main donor, Ms. Chandrika Rinho.

The main gate is constructed in Kulung Marg, Devigon, Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, Sunsari, Nepal which was constructed at total cost Rs. 4,21,000.00.

Among the total cost Rs. 2,66,000.00 was donated by the inaugurator Ms. Chandrika Rinho, Rs.1,00,000.00 from office of the Ward No. 5 of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City, Rs. 45,000.00 was from NKKBSUS District Coordination Committee and Rs,10,000.00 was from NKKBSUS Provincial Committee.

Chairperson of the Provincial Committee Mr. Asdhan Rinho and Sunsari District Coordinator Malumdhoj Pidisai with their Team initiated for lobbing to the donors for receiving  the fund to complete the construction on time.
